Nyamande Primary School (Borehole, 4,500,000 litres PA) benefiting 7,000 people PA
AMSCOT drilled a borehole to address the water challenges facing Nyamande Government Primary School, Domboshava, a village in the province of Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe, about 40 km north of Harare. The primary school has a total of 1400 pupils from 1000 households. Water facilities available to the pupils are not functional. Students are left with the option of drinking rusty water or leaving school during study times in search of clean water. For proper management and maintenance, the project is situated within the Nyamande Government Primary School premises. The project which cost about $5,500.00 was commissioned in September 2019. The borehole is serving about 1000 households of approximately 5 per family and supply 12,500 litres of clean water per day equivalent to 4.5million litres per year.
